What Is Binance Alpha and Why Is It the Best Place to Launch Your Token?

Countdown reaching zero and turning into a 24-hour ring, illustrating the Binance Alpha showcase for new tokens.

Updated October 2026

Binance Alpha is a section of Binance Wallet that features early-stage tokens, usually for around 24 hours, where users can buy them through Quick Buy. Binance describes it as a pre-listing selection pool: some Alpha tokens are later considered for a Binance exchange listing, with no guarantee. For a project, it is a short, concentrated window of attention.

Most guides to Binance Alpha are written for traders: how to farm points, which tokens to buy. This one is for founders. It covers how Alpha works from the project's side, what it asks of a token, what it costs, and what can come after the window. It draws on Binance's own documentation and on the launches our desk has supported at EchoTrade, a market maker focused on Binance Alpha launches: more than 2,000 token launches supported, including more than 40 on Binance Alpha.

How does Binance Alpha work?

A featured token appears in the Alpha section of Binance Wallet with a countdown. When the countdown reaches zero, the token goes live and users can buy it. According to Binance Academy, tokens are usually featured for around 24 hours, after which they stay visible in the Alpha area of Markets.

Four parts of the program matter to a project:

Quick Buy. A one-tap purchase flow in Binance Wallet. It picks the right network token, suggests an amount, adjusts slippage on retries and applies anti-MEV protection. For a project, this means buying is frictionless, so demand arrives fast and all at once.

Alpha Points. A loyalty score Binance users build through activity in the Binance ecosystem. Points give access to Alpha events such as airdrops and token generation events.

Alpha Box. Launched in February 2026, it pools tokens from several projects into one airdrop event. Users spend Alpha Points to claim a box and receive tokens from one of the featured projects. For a founder, that is supply leaving your treasury and reaching a large group of new holders on the same day.

Alpha 2.0. Since March 2025, the same tokens can also be traded from the main Binance app, from users' Spot and Funding accounts, with no separate wallet. Orders still execute on-chain. The audience is much wider than wallet users alone.

Four tiles explaining how Binance Alpha works for a project: Quick Buy, Alpha Points, Alpha Box and Alpha 2.0.

Why is Binance Alpha the best place to launch your token?

Because no other launch gives a new token this much of the right attention in a single day. For a founder, five things make it different:

Binance-scale reach on day one. The token is shown to Binance Wallet users and, through Alpha 2.0, to users of the main Binance app. A new project would need months of marketing to reach an audience of that size on its own.

Buying without friction. Quick Buy turns interest into a purchase in one step. Users do not have to find the contract, set up a wallet elsewhere or bridge funds.

Real holders, not only traders. Alpha Box and Alpha airdrops put your token in the hands of many Binance users on the same day, which builds a holder base far faster than most launches can.

A credibility signal. Being selected by Binance tells partners, investors and other exchanges that the project passed a real filter, because Binance chooses Alpha tokens itself.

A path toward a later Binance listing. Binance calls Alpha a pre-listing selection pool. A later spot or futures listing is possible, and Alpha tokens have much larger chances of it than tokens outside the program, though it is never guaranteed.

The condition is readiness. The same attention that makes Alpha valuable punishes a token whose market, supply plan or community is not prepared for it. The rest of this guide covers what that preparation looks like.

How are tokens selected for Binance Alpha?

Binance selects them. Its own explainer says tokens are picked based on market signals and community interest, and it does not describe a public application process for Alpha specifically. Binance's general route for projects is its listing application.

What "market signals and community interest" means in practice, from the projects we see reach Alpha: a token or product people already talk about, an active community, on-chain activity that looks real, and a team that is visible and reachable. Binance also notes that tokens which gain traction through its Meme Rush launch tool may appear on Alpha.

No agency, launchpad or market maker can guarantee a project's selection. Anyone who sells an Alpha placement is selling something Binance decides.

What happens during the 24-hour showcase?

Demand arrives in one concentrated wave. The pattern we see most across our Alpha launches is a burst of Quick Buy orders when the countdown ends, a peak within the first hours, and then a drop in activity as the token leaves the featured spot.

Because Alpha purchases execute on-chain, the price users get depends on the liquidity behind the token. If the pool is deep enough for the wave, the token trades in an orderly way through it. If it is thin, the first larger sell orders meet very little on the other side, and the chart shows a sharp spike followed by a long slide. That chart becomes the token's reference point for everyone who looks at it later: holders, partners and exchanges.

If the token already trades on other venues, the price there has to stay in line with the Alpha price. Gaps between venues are closed by arbitrage, at the project's expense.

What does a project need ready before Binance Alpha?

Five things, all decided weeks before the countdown.

Settled tokenomics. Circulating supply at the showcase, any unlocks in the first weeks, and exactly how many tokens go out through airdrops, Alpha Box or TGE events. Supply decided late is supply nobody planned liquidity for. Our tokenomics guide covers the structure.

A liquidity plan for the window. How much depth the token needs to absorb the expected demand, in which pools and on which venues. It is sized from the community, the distribution and the expected Alpha traffic.

Inventory in place. The tokens and stablecoins that will support the market, positioned before the countdown rather than moved during it.

A market maker onboarded. Onboarding takes four to six weeks: connections, inventory planning, agreed depth and spread targets. The role of a desk for an Alpha token is covered in detail in choosing a market maker for Binance Alpha, and the basics of how crypto market making works are in our main guide.

An audience built months ahead. Alpha brings attention for a day. The holders who stay come from a community built three to six months before it.

How much does a Binance Alpha launch cost?

Binance does not publish an Alpha fee schedule in its own documentation, and we do not repeat third-party figures we cannot verify. What we can describe is the budget a project carries around the showcase: the token allocation for airdrops and Alpha Box, market making (on a retainer, typically $2,500 to $10,000 per month), the liquidity inventory itself, an audit, and the community and marketing work before it.

The full breakdown, line by line, is in how much a Binance Alpha launch costs.

Can a Binance Alpha token get listed on Binance spot or futures later?

Yes, it is possible, and Alpha tokens have much larger chances of it than tokens outside the program. Binance describes Alpha as a pre-listing selection pool and says some featured tokens may later be considered for a Binance exchange listing. Its Binance Wallet guide also notes that tokens gaining traction there could move toward a CEX listing.

It is never guaranteed, and the decision is Binance's. What a project controls is the record it builds after the showcase: a market that stays orderly once the featured window closes, a holder base that keeps growing, a product people use, and a team that keeps shipping. A token whose depth disappears on day two is not building that record.

What happens to a token after the showcase?

Alpha demand fades once the token leaves the featured spot, but the token keeps trading, in Binance Wallet and through Alpha 2.0. The most common problem we see is a token that was supported only for the 24 hours and is left with a wide spread and little depth by the second day.

The projects that handled Alpha well across our 40+ Alpha launches planned the first 30 days after the window with the same care as the window itself: the same depth and spread commitments on every venue, a plan for any unlocks or distributions landing in that period, and announcements that keep the community engaged after the spotlight moves on.

FAQ

What is Binance Alpha in simple terms?

A section of Binance Wallet that features early-stage tokens for around 24 hours. Users buy them through Quick Buy, and since Alpha 2.0 the same tokens can be traded from the main Binance app.

How do projects get on Binance Alpha?

Binance selects tokens itself, based on market signals and community interest. Its Alpha explainer does not describe a separate application process, and no third party can guarantee selection.

Does Binance Alpha lead to a Binance listing?

It can. Binance says some Alpha tokens may later be considered for a Binance exchange listing, and Alpha tokens have much larger chances of it than tokens outside the program, but there is no guarantee.

Does a token on Binance Alpha need a market maker?

It is the standard setup. Demand on Alpha arrives in a short, concentrated window, and the token needs depth during the showcase and a market that holds up after it.
