Top 10 AEO and SEO Companies for Crypto Projects in 2026

The short version: the leading AEO and SEO companies for crypto projects in 2026 are Victoria Olsina, RGray, ColdChain Agency, Coinbound, GuerrillaBuzz, Skomor, Coinpresso, Techtonic Marketing, ICODA and SeoProfy. The list is ordered by how central AI search is to each firm, not by headcount, because that is the variable that actually changed in this category over the last eighteen months. Positions one to five sell search and AI visibility as the product. Positions six to ten are strong search practices inside broader crypto marketing agencies.
Search for token projects split into two jobs. One is still ranking in Google. The other is getting cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews, where there is no click to win and the only outcome is whether a model names you. Some of the firms below were built around that second job. Others are strong search practices inside larger agencies that added it. Both are valid purchases, and knowing which one you are buying is most of the decision.
Why is an X account no longer enough?
For most of the last cycle, distribution in crypto meant one thing. You had an X account and a Telegram group, and if the posting was good enough, people found you.
That still works on the part of the audience already inside crypto. It does very little for everyone else, and everyone else is now most of the market.
Crypto is turning into a fairly normal market. Across the 2,000+ launches we've supported, the people asking questions before a listing increasingly include compliance teams, treasury staff and exchange listing desks, alongside retail users who arrived through an app rather than through crypto Twitter. None of them are scrolling your timeline. They search, and more of them every month ask a model instead.
That second habit changed the work. A search result gives someone ten links and lets them choose. An AI answer gives them one assembled response and names a handful of sources, or none. There's no page two to be on. Either the model can find, verify and reuse what you published, or you're not in the answer, and you'll never see it in your analytics because there was no click to log.
Two things follow. A project nobody ranks or cites looks small to the exact audiences it needed to look serious for. And this is still the cheapest channel in crypto, because almost nobody in the category contests it properly, which is the opposite of what happens on paid and KOLs.

What does Google say AEO does not require?
Worth knowing before you buy anything, because a lot of what gets sold as AEO is invented.
Google's own guidance on AI features is blunt about it: "There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary." The same page says you don't need new machine-readable files, AI text files, or any special schema.org markup, and that to be eligible as a supporting link a page only has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet.
So an agency selling you an llms.txt file, a bespoke AI schema, or content chopped into fragments "for the machine" is selling something Google says does nothing. The work that does move the needle is duller: being indexed and crawlable, having important content in text rather than images, internal links that make pages findable, and content clear enough that a model can classify your project correctly.
What does help is measurable. The original research on generative engine optimisation (Aggarwal et al., KDD 2024) found that adding statistics, quotations and cited sources to a page raised its visibility in generative answers by up to 40%, while keyword stuffing did not help. Those are writing decisions, not technical tricks.
One practical note for measurement. Google reports AI Overviews and AI Mode inside the normal Search Console performance data under the Web search type, so an agency telling you AI visibility is unmeasurable has not looked.
How is this list ordered?
Positions one to five are firms where search and AI visibility are the product. Positions six to ten are strong search practices inside broader crypto marketing agencies, where SEO sits alongside PR, community or paid. If you need a full-service agency rather than a search specialist, our top crypto marketing agencies list covers that category.
That distinction matters more than the ranking itself. A specialist is the right call when search is the channel you are betting on. A full-service agency is the right call when search is one of four things you need and you would rather not run four vendors.
What separates an AEO agency from an SEO agency?
Four things worth checking before you sign anything.
Whether they measure citation or only traffic. Ranking and being quoted are different outcomes with different work behind them. An agency reporting only sessions and keyword positions is not measuring AI visibility at all, because a page can rank in Google and never appear in an AI answer. Ask what their AEO reporting actually shows.
Whether the crypto knowledge is real. Search in this category runs on entity clarity: what your protocol is, what your token does, how it differs from the nearest three things with similar names. An agency that cannot hold that conversation will produce content that reads correctly and gets your project classified wrong.
What they do off your own site. Models cite what they can verify across sources, so a large part of AEO happens on documentation, third-party coverage and the places other people describe your project. An agency selling only on-page work is selling half the job.
Whether they understand what happens after the click. Search brings people to a token they can then try to buy, and what they meet at that point is an order book. A campaign that wins the search term and lands buyers into a thin book has converted marketing spend into slippage. That is why we look at crypto Market Making and campaign timing together at EchoTrade, and why the search engagements that work are the ones planned alongside the liquidity rather than ahead of it.
Which agency fits which project?
1. Victoria Olsina
Best for: treating AI search visibility as its own discipline rather than an add-on.
Victoria Olsina is an SEO and AI search consultant, previously Head of SEO at ConsenSys and Search and Acquisition Manager at Barclays, working in web3 since 2017. The practice covers SEO, GEO and AEO for crypto and fintech, with dedicated tracks for exchanges, stablecoin companies, layer 2s, wallets and institutional crypto. Published clients include Polkadot, Bankless, Near Protocol, Aztec, Safe Wallet, Notabene and Mezo. She wrote Mastering AI Search for Crypto and Web3 Brands, and the case studies carry specific numbers rather than adjectives, including a stablecoin payments page reaching page one in 19 days. The stated fit is post-seed companies with a real budget, not pre-launch teams wanting a quick win before a token event.

2. RGray
Best for: Web3 products that want SEO and AI search visibility built as one programme over a six month horizon.
RGray is a crypto SEO agency working with Web3 companies since 2019, with a strictly white-hat approach aimed at durable traffic rather than short-lived gains. Its defining choice is that SEO and GEO run as one system: the technical, content and entity work that earns Google rankings is the same work that makes a project retrievable and citable by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. Clutch certifies the team in Search Engine Optimization, Generative Engine Optimization and Content development, with 4.9 out of 5 from 22 verified reviews. The published case studies carry numbers: CoinLaunch, a crypto analytics platform that started with no organic channel, reached up to 7,000 unique visitors a day and top 1 to 5 positions for its main commercial topics, and goodcryptoX, a trading platform in a niche where exchanges and media brands control discovery, reached around 4,000 unique visitors a day. It is also one of the few firms in this category that publishes prices, with foundation packages from $4,499. The fit is a product that already exists where organic acquisition is the bottleneck; meaningful movement inside the first two months is rare in competitive crypto niches, and the team says so.

3. ColdChain Agency
Best for: projects that want an agency built around search and AI visibility rather than one that added them.
ColdChain is a web3 growth agency whose core offering leads with SEO, AEO and GEO for crypto and blockchain, alongside PR, paid media and KOL work. The search side is unusually developed: separate service lines for crypto exchanges, stablecoins and Bitcoin, a standalone enterprise AEO practice at aeo.coldchain.agency, and published case studies including how Rootstock became the organic search leader in Bitcoin DeFi, and a MiCA-compliant exchange launch into Europe. Its own content library is a reasonable proxy for the work: programmatic SEO for token and pair data, connecting organic traffic to deposits and wallet connects rather than sessions, and a published crypto AEO framework. The fit is teams treating search as a primary acquisition channel rather than a line item.

4. Coinbound
Best for: search inside a full marketing stack, at scale.
Coinbound is one of the largest crypto marketing agencies, reporting 800+ clients since 2018 and named work for Sui, MetaMask, Polymarket, Nexo, OKX and eToro. SEO sits alongside influencer marketing, PR, community and paid, which suits projects that would rather run one agency than four. The AEO practice is newer than the SEO practice but documented: within the first three months of running MetaMask's SEO and AEO programme, the agency reports brand mentions across web3 media and content platforms rising 635%. The trade-off is the usual one at this size. You get reach, process and media relationships, and you should confirm the seniority of the team actually assigned to your account.

5. GuerrillaBuzz
Best for: projects where earned coverage and search rankings need to feed each other.
GuerrillaBuzz runs blockchain PR, content and SEO from one team, reporting 100+ blockchain clients and tier-1 placements in Cointelegraph, CoinDesk and Decrypt. That combination matters more for AEO than it used to, because models weight what independent sources say about you over what your own site claims. The agency runs a dedicated AI search optimisation service for web3 alongside its blockchain SEO practice, and frames the work against business metrics such as wallet connects, signups and holders rather than sessions. The fit is projects that need their name to appear in places they do not control, which is the half of AEO that on-page work cannot reach.

6. Skomor
Best for: projects that need the go-to-market plan and the search work to come from the same team.
Skomor is a growth marketing agency for startups and web3, founded in 2024 by Nick Skomor, covering go-to-market, SEO, content strategy, social and digital marketing, with a 1,000+ KOL network on X and a ten-person creative production team attached for crypto launches. Published campaign work includes Jupiter, Chiliz, Sonic SVM and LBank. The SEO offering is foundations-first: technical audits, keyword research and clustering, on-page and structured data. The distinctive part is the pairing. Most projects buy positioning from one firm and search from another, then discover the keywords were chosen against messaging nobody on the SEO side had read. Here both sit with the same team, which suits projects still deciding what they are before they decide what to rank for.

7. Coinpresso
Best for: GEO run alongside paid and earned media in a single funnel.
Coinpresso is a performance-focused crypto marketing agency that names generative engine optimisation as the first of its six core pillars, alongside PR, short-form content, community, PPC and presale marketing. It holds Google Partner status, which is rare in a vertical where many agencies have lost ad accounts at some point, and its published client and testimonial list includes Binance, Exodus and Bitcoin Magazine. The agency reports over $450M raised across its portfolio at presale and ICO stage. The service menu is very broad, so the useful question at the first call is which pillars your engagement actually includes and who runs them.

8. Techtonic Marketing
Best for: crypto-native SEO with published traffic numbers behind it.
Techtonic runs SEO, content, paid and fractional CMO work for DeFi, RWA and web3 projects, with 100+ blockchain clients and a 4.8 average across 300+ Clutch reviews. The SEO practice is properly built out: audits, consulting and authority link building as separate services, with AI search optimisation for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude named explicitly as part of the package rather than implied. Published case studies include scaling one client's organic traffic by 2,300% over two years. The positioning is content-led and it shows, which suits projects whose search opportunity is informational rather than transactional.

9. ICODA
Best for: a crypto-native agency running search and AEO as two named tracks.
ICODA is a blockchain and web3 marketing agency that combines SEO, PR, influencer work and AI-driven visibility for crypto brands. Its search offering is explicitly dual-channel: traditional organic optimisation paired with answer engine optimisation aimed at ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. That framing is worth something on its own, because it means AEO is a named deliverable rather than something folded quietly into a content retainer. The fit is projects that want both halves from one team without moving to a specialist consultancy.

10. SeoProfy
Best for: projects that want a serious SEO firm first and a crypto specialist second.
SeoProfy is a general SEO agency with a developed crypto practice, and the distinction matters. Its strength is commercial rigour, tying search work to revenue outcomes rather than to rankings, supported by proprietary internal tooling for data collection. For a project whose problem is a technically broken site or a content programme that never converted, that background is often more useful than crypto fluency. The trade-off runs the other way too: confirm who on the team has actually worked on token projects before, because entity clarity in this category is the thing generalists most often get wrong.

FAQ
What is AEO, and how is it different from SEO?
Answer engine optimisation is the work of getting your project cited inside AI-generated answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. SEO optimises for a position in a list of links. AEO optimises for being the source a model quotes, which depends on whether your content is structured for retrieval, whether your entity is described consistently across the web, and whether independent sources corroborate what you say about yourself.
Do crypto projects need a specialist agency, or will a general SEO firm work?
A general firm can handle the technical layer perfectly well. Where the category gets hard is entity clarity: describing what a protocol does, what a token is for, and how it differs from several similarly named things, in language a model can classify correctly. That is domain knowledge rather than search knowledge, and it is the part a generalist usually gets wrong.
How much does a crypto SEO or AEO engagement cost?
Few firms in this category publish rates. RGray is one exception, with foundation packages from $4,499 to $17,499 for a 28-day build, and ongoing work quoted per scope. The range is wide because the work varies from a one-off audit to a full content and off-site programme. Treat any single industry figure with suspicion and ask each agency to quote against a defined scope rather than a monthly retainer with an open deliverable list.
How long does AI search visibility take?
Faster than traditional SEO in some cases and slower in others. Published case studies in this category include pages reaching page one within a few weeks, but those are usually low-competition terms on sites with existing authority. A more common pattern is initial ranking movement inside 60 to 90 days and meaningful traffic growth around month six. A quarter is the shortest engagement worth buying.
Is an llms.txt file worth paying for?
No. Google's own documentation on AI features says no AI text files or special markup are needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode. The work that gets a page cited is indexing, crawlable text, clear structure, and independent sources that describe your project the same way you do.
Can you do AEO in-house?
Partly. The on-page half, answer blocks, consistent terminology, clear entity definitions and structured content, is learnable and most teams can run it. The off-site half is harder, because it depends on getting other people to describe your project accurately, and that is closer to PR than to SEO. Teams that split it this way tend to get better value than teams that outsource everything.
Does search traffic matter if the token is not liquid?
It matters less than teams expect. Search brings people who can then try to buy, and what they meet at that point is the order book. A campaign that delivers demand into a book that cannot absorb it produces a price spike and a fast reversal rather than holders, which is why campaign timing and liquidity planning belong in the same conversation.
